TripActions swoops on the Sweden-based business travel company Resia
TripActions has acquired the Sweden-based travel management company Resia for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is TripAction’s third in the last nine months after the acquisition of UK-based Reed & Mackay in May last year and Germany-based Comtravo just last month.
Resia was founded in Swedish Gothenburg in 1974 and will help TripActions grow in the Nordic region.
TMC also has a meeting and event service where a quarter of the sales volumes come from the unit.
Michael Riegel, general manager of TripActions EMEA and former CEO of Comtravo, said that the acquisition increased market share in Scandinavia while “Resia’s strong management team and deep market expertise will help lead TripActions’ continued growth in the Nordic region.”

Prior to the acquisition, TripActions said it had invested more than $ 400 million in Europe in the past year and that half of the company’s operations are now in Europe.
TripActions also received significant funding in 2021 with a $ 155 million E-Series series in January, followed by a $ 275 million round in October.
