Toulouse is now its administrative court of appeal
Toulouse is now its administrative court of appeal. Two and a half months after being arrested by Prime Minister Jean Castex – it was last December 16 – the first hearing took place on March 1 in the renovated premises of the former rectorate 3, rue Montoulieu Saint-Jacques, at the Hôtel de Lestang behind the prefecture.
From building permit to family reunification
The Administrative Court of Appeal plans to receive 3200 cases per year. It has within its jurisdiction the jurisdictions of Toulouse but also Montpellier and Nîmes, as well as the department of Vaucluse.
The disputes that the Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse has dealt with are varied: 50% of its cases are “foreign disputes” such as refusals of residence permits and refusals of family reunification.
The other disputes concern the public service (dismissal, non-establishment, compensation dispute) but also the tax litigation (taxation contested by individuals or companies) and finally the urban planning and environment litigation (wind turbines, construction of buildings contested by local residents, etc.)
The Administrative Court of Appeal of Toulouse was created to relieve the administrative courts of appeal of Marseille and Bordeaux and save time for litigants. Until now, the time for the judicial response on appeal is 16 to 18 months.
