There is a new exhibition celebrating Frida Kahlo in Lisbon
It will open on March 8, International Women’s Day. Entry is free.
It was last year that the Collective 284in Lisbon, honored Mexican artist Frida Kahlo with an exhibition. Now “Imperfect”, the project is once the organization will have three moments — will come back for success — and a first time 2022 approach and will decide to create moments in 20202022.
The phase of this exhibition therefore begins on March 8, International Women’s Day. However, it will only be available to the general public on March 11. From that day on, inspired guests will be able to see works by various Mexican artists.
“Appropriating the figure of Frida Kahlo as a central element of this reflection, the exhibition ‘Imperfeita’ presents itself as a simple tribute. Through it, it is intended to deepen the discussion about women’s joys and affliction about women’s proposals, in this way the women’s gaze will be privileged on the object to reinforce the protagonism of the feminine discourse about themselves “, says the organization.
The program includes the launch of the book “Somos F*das”, by Catarina Coelho, which compiled texts written by women who narrate their achievements. Actress Carlota Crespo will perform Frida Kahlo’s song and there will also be music, among other initiatives. The exhibition, free of charge, is open until April 10.
