🇸🇪 Sweden: Melodifestivalen 2022 semi-final division announced
SVT has revealed the group’s split in a livestream in the Melodifestivalen’s official app at 12.00 today.
The previously known second chance with duels has been scrapped for the 2022 competition. The eight songs that advanced to the semifinals were placed in two separate groups by a draw. From each group, the two songs that get the most votes go on to the final.
Group one consists of:
- Tone Sekelius – My Way
- Alvaro Estrella – Suave
- Danne StrÃ¥hed – Hallabaloo
- Anna Bergendahl – Higher power
Group two consists of:
- Theoz – As you like
- Lisa Miskovsky – Best to come
- Little sister – Until our days are over
- Cazzi Opeia – I can not get enough
The semifinal will be held on March 5 in Friends Arena, Solna, Stockholm. The winner of the Melodifestivalen final on March 12 will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy.

Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has continued to be one of the competition’s most successful countries. The country has won the competition six times, the most recent was 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the competition in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing in the final in 2010, Sweden has finished third twice and won the competition twice, only in 2013 did the country end up outside the top 10 in the final.
