The Aeroscopia museum, the Cité de l’Espace, the Airbus factories… Toulouse is full of places that can stimulate vocations in the field of aerospace. For the most determined, Airbus High School may be the ideal place to continue your education. The establishment also opens its doors on Saturday March 19, 2022, to introduce the general public to aeronautical training and professions.
A recruiting industry
“To cope with the recovery in the aeronautics sector and in particular to respond to the increase in aircraft production rates, the school will offer this year 20% more seats from the start of the next school year,” announces the European aircraft manufacturer.
These training courses (bac pro) take place over three years. Initially, the student is under school status. He will then become an apprentice at Airbus or one of the industrial giant’s partners.
The aircraft manufacturer recalls that the school is aimed at girls and boys with a minimum class level of 3and and between the ages of 15 and 18. One condition is “indispensable” to insert the establishment: to be motivated by manual and team work.
A new CAP
This year, Airbus announces the creation of a new CAP Aeronautics diploma. This is aimed at 18-25 year olds who already have a CAP, a Bac Pro or a technological baccalaureate. “Furthermore, the Aeronautical Paint Technician additional qualification is also one of the courses offered at the Lycée Airbus”, adds the aircraft manufacturer.
“The Airbus High School is one of the few company high schools still existing in France. This specificity allows us to offer students training that is as close as possible to the reality of the company, its products and its markets”.
Each year, more than 300 young people are trained at the Lycée Airbus. And the integration rate has been excellent since 2021, at the end of their training, nearly 95% of students were recruited by Airbus or one of its partners.
