Haute-Garonne: the boar charging a hunter and the precise blessing
A 60-year-old man who took part in a hunting trip this Saturday in Comminges was slightly injured by a wild boar that rushed at him.
A 60-year-old man was still hospitalized on Monday after suffering a violent attack while hunting in Barbazan, in the south of Haute-Garonne. The hunt had taken place within the rules and had been reported.
The victim shot a wild boar which was injured but survived. Then the beast turned against the one who had attacked it. With colossal force, he hit him in the lower limbs.
The hunter was rescued by his colleagues who shot the animal. He was taken care of by the emergency services and taken to Saint-Gaudens hospital. He had to be returned to have his deep wounds sutured. However, his life was not in danger.
“It could have happened to anyone, even a walker,” notes an observer. It’s a wounded beast that defended itself. Informed, Michèle Stadere, the mayor of this town of Comminges, closely followed the event. “I wish him the best possible recovery,” she said. It is due to chance”.
The gendarmes of the Saint-Gaudens company were in charge of the investigation.
