Salernitana and Udinese were two lost opportunities for Milan. What seemed to be two affordable matches, two should announce the positive performance of the Rossoneri, on the other hand, turned out to be not insignificant disappointments. Despite this, Milan remained at the top of the standings with 57 points, more than Inter on which the Rossoneri, however, achieved something in two days poor in joys and satisfactions.
ONLY ONE GAIN – This is the only gain obtained by Milan, which from before the standings the duty to take a more significant step against two formations is sufficient within reach. Above all, points that have gone away weigh heavily, even looking out of the corner of your eye at those who have done even worse behind you. The rameric, however, also concerns the performances offered by Stefano Pioli’s team, who played a less loose, qualitative and incisive football against both Campania and Friuli compared to the great test seen in the derby won against Inter.
MISTAKES – It has been clearly demonstrated that AC Milan suffers against the small and medium-sized teams, with all due respect for terms, but it is equally right to consider the episodes that penalized the Rossoneri. The failure of the VAR to take a position on the occasion of the goal signed by Udogie is a red pencil error, a serious inattention that is certainly not unprecedented for the Rossoneri. Just think of the injustices already suffered against Spezia and Naples. Not to mention the time that was played in the second half, definitely too little.
THE OPPORTUNITIES – Controversy starts, Milan is now awaited by two decisive commitments useful for archiving these half steps and getting back on track. The third derby of the season will be played on 1 March, this time in the Italian Cup for the first semifinal, while five days later the Rossoneri will be guests of Napoli at Maradona. Two great challenges, two shots not to be missed, two opportunities to try and see a great Milan on the pitch.
