IThe Lotto-Soudal sprinter considers himself satisfied with his current condition. He pointed Milan-San Remo in his diary. “I was not well placed in the last corner at Kuurne and I had to make an effort to come back for the sprint”, explained Caleb Ewan. “Taking back several places cost me a lot of energy, which I missed against Jakobsen. My team also had to work a lot to come back to the last three survivors of the breakaway, whom we only recovered a few hundred meters from the finish.
Caleb Ewan will play Milan-San Remo on March 19 with ambition. “I am happy with my current condition. I was able to franchise all the bosses of Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne and I think it’s ideal preparation for Milan-San Remo. I will take part in Tirreno-Adriatico (7-13/03), a race that will help me fine-tune my top condition”.
Caleb Ewan wanted to congratulate Fabio Jakobsen after his success in Kuurne. “I am very happy that he has returned to the top after his heavy fall in the Tour of Poland 2020. He has come a long way. This is the first time in three years that we have met each other”.
