Monaco – Clément: “The players have lost their minds”
ASM lost at the start of the afternoon at home to Stade de Reims (1-2). However, everything had started well for the Monegasques who led 1-0 before breaking down in the last minutes of the match to lose by being reduced to 10. After the meeting with Philippe Clément, the Monaco coach was very disappointed with the result.
” I am very disappointed not to take three points. This is the most important element. We were not rewarded for our match. The players have done a lot of good things well without and with the ball. But, in the last seven minutes, we made mistakes that changed everything. The first goal, against our camps, is bad luck. Next, Jean Lucas must not make red. It’s not necessary. The players know it (…) At 1-1, the team did everything to win. They (the players, Editor’s note) have lost their minds. It’s really naive. It’s heavy not to be rewarded for the previous 84 minutes. It’s a bit of a heist. I am therefore disappointed. But I would be more disappointed if we weren’t good with the ball, without mentality or will. This, on the a. But we have to be smarter “, declared the Belgian technician of the ASM after the meeting, in remarks reported by Le Figaro.
