Covid-19. Portugal as 21 thousand accused
Portugal recorded, in the last 24 hours, 9,851 new cases of covid-19 and 28 deaths associated with the disease. Presented in the bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) released this Saturday, the total number of infected people in the country since the beginning of the pandemic1,001 as victims1 rises to 3,251.02.
The Lisbon and Tagus Valley region again reported the highest number of new cases: 3,398. The North follows, with 1,881 infections, the Center, with 2,177, the Algarve, with 643, the Alentejo, with 624. In the Azores there are 694 more cases and in Madeira 434 more.
Of the 28 deaths, nine from the beginning in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley area, nine in the North, four in the Algarve, in the Center, two in the Azores and one in the Alentejo. Only Madeira did not report any deaths associated with covid-19.
The number of patients in Portuguese hospitals due to covid-19 has fallen again. There are now 1,378 hospitalized covid patients, 123 less than in the last balance sheet. Of these, 101 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU), three more than yesterday.
On the other hand, 19,755 more people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recovered in the country since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,784.00.
There are now 446,301 active cases in the country, 9,932 fewer than yesterday, and as health authorities currently have 426,472 contacts under surveillance.
It should be noted that the insufficiency and the transmissibility index (Rt) were updated yesterday. The national insufficiency is 2222.5 cases of infection per 100 thousand inhabitants in the last 14 days. When considering only the mainland, the incidence is 2157.4 cases.
The national Rt is 0.73 and on the mainland it is 0.71.
