The outlook indicates more expensive electricity for the rest of the winter, says trade manager Tom Eirik Olsen in trade power.
This is the highest electricity price in almost one month. The last time the electricity price was so high was on 3 February, according to recent figures from the Nord Pool power exchange.
Trade manager Tom Eirik Olsen in Ishavskraft points out that electricity prices have risen in recent days.
– We are talking about 30 to 40 percent in recent days. This also affects the spot market for electricity for Norway.
He explains this with reports of colder and drier weather, that gas prices have risen and that the countries around us are getting higher prices.
– The situation in Ukraine strikes because the gas price goes up. The outlook indicates more expensive electricity for the rest of the winter, says Olsen and refers to future contracts related to electricity.
On Saturday, the daily price of electricity in the three southernmost price areas in Norway, which are Oslo, Bergen and Kristiansand, will be NOK 1.40.
With grid rent and fees, the price of electricity in these areas ends up at around NOK 1.85 per kilowatt hour on Saturday. Then surcharges from the electricity company are not included.
The average price in the country on Saturday will be NOK 0.90 per kWh. It is NOK 0.08 higher than on Friday and NOK 0.61 higher than on the same day last year. The highest daily price for electricity on Saturday is found in southeastern, southwestern and western Norway at NOK 1.40 per kWh. Then comes Central and Northern Norway with a daily price of 0.14 kroner.
