After Coronacluster at Bundesliga leaders Red Bull Salzburg, the upcoming league game of the leaders against LASK and the semifinals of the defending champion in the ÖFB Cup have been postponed. As Salzburg announced on Thursday, 17 footballers tested positive in the latest Covid 19 tests. A total of 32 people in the club have now contracted the corona virus.
As a result, Salzburg cannot provide a playable team for the game against Linz that was planned for Sunday. These would have to include 14 field players and two capable goalkeepers from the 30-man squad reported to the Bundesliga. Salzburg therefore submitted the application to postpone the game, which was granted.
The away game at LASK – it is the penultimate in the main season of the top division – will now take place next Wednesday, March 2nd (8:30 p.m.). Since the WAC cup semi-final was scheduled for this date, it has now been postponed to March 16th. This is announced by the ÖFB and the Bundesliga.
