The role of the flag bearer at the opening ceremony from Russia, as it should be noted, caused a negative reaction from the athletes at the Games. This was announced to RBC Sport by State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova.
“The role of Bolshunov was one of the representatives of our team standard-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. However, I immediately said that Sasha should be left alone. We need to finish with the flag at the ski stadium, and only then at the closing ceremony. And so it happened. He justified the hopes of all Russians. The Russian tsar of skis,” Zhurova said.
