Toulouse. The cinematheque makes its cinema… of genre
For its 23rd edition, the Extrême Cinéma festival continues to rekindle the flames of marginal cinema at the Cinémathèque.
cult movies or totally forgottenfilm-concerts, concerts, exhibitions, non-stop nights, performances… the festival proposes to explore cinematographies that were disqualified in their time or simply to bring back to light those that slumbered in the dark.
This festival proposes to explore the cinematographies disqualified in their time or simply to put back under the light those who slept in the dark. Genre films, spooky experiments, unidentified filmed objects, classics to rediscover and provocations of all kinds, each edition has its share of unpredictable skids and casual road trips.
23 years of existence for an event that forbids nothing, and still this desire to rekindle the flames of marginal cinema.
Directors, actors, producers, programmers, musicians, male or female… Extreme Cinema or the art of cultivating wild herbs for the most extravagant of gardens.
Cinema bis, exploitation films, deviant blockbusters, an intoxicating and bawdy infernal sarabande, naughty and teasing… An invitation to travel could not be more incorrect within a festival which, since its first edition, has practiced eclecticism, difference and bad assumed taste.
Extreme Cinema Festival: from February 18 to 26 at the Cinémathèque
