Toulouse: at La Boucherie des Copains, we are surfing on the dandy trend
At La Boucherie des Copains, we don’t mess with the look. It’s bow tie, denim shirt and beige apron, for all butchers. A retro look appreciated by customers.
Whether it’s Paul, Nicolas or Julien, the three are always dressed to the nines, because at La Boucherie des Copains, we don’t mess with style!
With their wooden bow ties, denim shirts and beige aprons, they display a rather dandy style, far removed from the traditional image of the butcher, decked out in a white apron, stained with blood. want to reflect their times: tattooed and bearded (for some), elegant and always professional. “The fact that we are all dressed up creates a certain unity and erases any hierarchy. Here, we don’t know who’s the boss,” announces Paul. And to add: “It’s more square and means that the smallest detail matters to us”
Julien Dorgans manages the downtown boutique, with Paul Viste. The latter also works with Nicolas Laffargue who runs the Minimes boutique. These new generation butchers wanted above all “to bring youth into their profession”, explains Paul. After studying in Paris, they decided to review the look of their profession when they settled in the Pink City. “With Nicolas, we wanted to bring something classy to our profession, in the vein of a Parisian café waiter”, continues Paul.
The latter was only 24 years old when he took over the first Minimes store. “I said to myself that I was going to work 40 years in this way. Also, I couldn’t exercise it like the old ones. That’s why we wanted to dust it off.” An approach that also aims to win new customers. “We don’t want people to think that our profession is backward and that we don’t spite it. With our look, we convey something attractive,” assures Paul.
And the window of the Boucherie des Copains is to match, “sober, black with a beautiful plate”. Very retro, too!
