Toulouse. Pothron: ‘Every game will be a cleaver’
There are five games left in this first phase, what is your state of mind when your position in the standings offers you very little margin?
We know very well that each match will be a cleaver match. From the victory against Poitiers (3-0, last Thursday at home) acquired, Zago (the assistant coach of Toulouse, editor’s note) insisted on the fact that we all had to believe in it (the Spacers have four points late and one more match on Paris, 8th and virtual last qualified, editor’s note). It starts with this trip to Cambrai, a team that has recovered its injured, and in a rather special room because it is cold there and the light, rather yellow, is quite unusual.
The good streak made a little over a month ago coincides with your new owner status. Should we see a sign there?
(he smiles) I don’t really ask myself the question. Collectively, we are better too. In particular, we manage the ends of sets much more calmly, even though this was our main concern for a long time. As an individual, I was very well integrated into this collective and I take advantage of it. I don’t change anything in my habits: if I start as a starter, so much the better, otherwise I try to bring the maximum as soon as I get home.
You still have new responsibilities…
Yes, it’s cool, especially at the end of the set. I take that as a mark of confidence. It will serve me for the matches which and come for the rest of my career.
Your teammates praise your big character and the energy you transmit to them. Amazing for such a young player, right?
In everyday life, I’m rather reserved, even shy, but I’m not the same Antoine when I get on the floor (he smiles). I try to bring a bit of grinta, I like that!
