Toulouse: “Long Ma” the dragon horse arrives at the Halle de la Machine
Arrived from China to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with France, the dragon horse “Long Ma” was presented this Thursday morning at the Halle de la Machine in Toulouse.
Several years after the restrained success of the Minotaur, a new mythical animal will appear to the general public. Long Ma, original creature both horse and dragon. Able to spit fire, grow in the air or even breathe, the gigantic machine has crazy characteristics. 13m high and 45 tons, it is as impressive as its cousin Asterion, the Minotaur.
It took a ” hard work “ according to François Delarozière, artistic director of the company La Machine: “It’s exceptional, normally it takes more than 2 years to create a machine like this, but we did it in 8 months. It was a real challenge, we worked day and night. In the end, it is a real success”.
To have the chance to meet LongMa in his place of life, at the Halles de la Machine, you will have to wait until next Saturday, February 19. Also note that on April 16 and 17, a free show will take place around Les Halles. The beast will then move outdoors from April 19, where visitors can also ride on its back, until May 8, 2022.
