Toulouse. L’Alimentation, the new HQ for wine lovers
In Toulouse, the restaurant L’Alimentation and its grocery store, located Place de la Bourse, have had a facelift. In addition to having revamped the decoration, the establishment offers a new concept and changes, every evening, into a wine and tapas bar.
L’Alimentation – Place de la Bourse in Toulouse is the new headquarters for wine lovers. The restaurant, which is one of the group’s three establishments foodhas had a makeover, and at the same time, a concept that has been somewhat revised. The place, which combines a restaurant and a grocery store, still offers a full lunch menu, but now turns into a wine and tapas bar in the evening.
After a few weeks of work, Food – Place de la Bourse has adopted a new contemporary and warm decoration, “which respects the codes and aesthetics of Food”, assures Christophe Baron, one of the three managers of the bar. à vin, which moved to Place de la Bourse 4 years ago. From now on, the restaurant and the adjoining grocery store, where customers will find artisanal products, are united under the same brand.
600 wine references
“The love of wine is the DNA of Food”, assures Christophe Baron, one of the three managers of the wine bar, who settled in Place de la Bourse 4 years ago. Now the restaurant offers 600 wine referencesthat the seasoned sommelier of the team takes pleasure in discovering.
All bottles of wine can be bought to take away, at the price of the cellar. They can also be consumed on the spot, but with an increase of 10 euros. Nevertheless, for Christophe Baron, this option still allows access to ” a sharp selection of wines at affordable prices “. In addition, customers have the choice of tasting these nectars in the “cozy and intimate atmosphere” of the wine cellar, or in “the more festive atmosphere, at the counter”, specifies Christophe Baron.
handcrafted products
On the snack side, the food menu – Place de la Bourse has also been revisited. In fact, every evening, the establishment offers a selection of tapas and plates to shareessentially from artisanal products, which will best accompany their wine tasting.
And even if the wine is in the spotlight, the three partners also want to highlight the producers, mostly from the greater Southwest, with whom they collaborate. “We want there to be a story to tell behind every product we tell explains Christophe Baron.
“We work, for example, with Pierre Oteiza, a producer from the Basque country who offers sausage, ham, foie gras and even cheese. We also collaborate with Salaisons Pardon, which make black pork and ham (female of the pig that has already given birth, editor’s note), which are rather rare products he adds. Aside from ham and cheese, Food also offers a few house specialities, notably “cromesquis of pig’s trotters with tarragon mayonnaise” specifies Christophe Baron.
