Ready to Eat arrives in Luxembourg
Luxembourg is added to the list of countries in which Prêt à Manger sells its sandwiches, salads, pastries and other coffees around the globe: the fast food brand from London will land in the Royal-Hamilius complex, confirms Stéphane Klein, Managing Director of Prêt à Manger Europe.
“The idea is that the opening can take place just before the summer or during the summer,” explains the manager. The brand offers on-site and take-out sales. It will occupy a cell of about 150m2 located to the right of the Post agency, which is at the corner of Place Hamilius.
This opening expands the commercial offer of the complex completed at the end of 2019 on a segment that is likely to be popular since Atelier Steffen launched its take-away in mid-December, as a prelude to the opening, in January, of a restaurant area located on the first floor with 45 seats. The SixSeven restaurant is also expected at the end of spring, above the Galeries Lafayette.

A continuous offer
Also called Prêt, the brand was born in London in 1986 with an optimized approach to fresh ingredients prepared daily on site. Since its inception, it has been committed to offering the unsold items of the day to associations helping homeless people. “It’s in the DNA of Prêt emphasizes”, Stéphane Klein.
Today, the fast food chain has allowed this positioning and is added to the list of organic products as well as a sustainable development policy that emphasizes the hunt for packaging and superfluous plastic.
It also offers customers a coffee subscription with the possibility of enjoying as many hot drinks of their choice as they wish. In France, it currently costs 20 euros per month. The formula is also planned in Luxembourg, but “we do not know if it will be available from the opening or not”, indicates Stéphane Klein.
There is room for several Prêt à Manger in Luxembourg.
The range of products should be modeled on that available in other markets, but the sign does not exclude some adaptations. As is the case, for example, in France, where mayonnaise has been removed from certain sandwiches in favor of butter.
As for other locations in the Grand Duchy, the brand says it is confined to this first one, but admits that “there is room for several Prêt à Manger in Luxembourg”.
Prêt targets a clientele of active employees in offices who, throughout the day, can find something to satisfy their needs and eating habits. “We know that it is a concept that corresponds to the eating habits that Europeans have and that they like,” underlines the manager.
500 points of sale worldwide
Prêt has 500 points of sale in 10 countries around the world: the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium, where the chain is present. at Brussels-Midi station and, more recently, Place Rogier.
If Luxembourg was missing from the list, note that the owner of the chain is none other than JAB Holding, a structure domiciled in the Grand Duchy, which has the Coty, Keurig Dr Pepper and Douwe Egberts brands in its portfolio. The holding company bought the Prêt chain in June 2018 for $2 billion.
