LIVE – Tour de France of the Recovery: BFM Business live from Toulouse
Latécoère seeks to diversify
The Toulouse firm supplies aerostructures and connection systems to Airbus and Boeing. The equipment manufacturer is looking for a new breath after the health crisis, with a recapitalization and three acquisitions. “Aeronautics is a long-cycle industry, the rebound is coming now,” explains Thierry Mootz, CEO of Latécoère.
Toulouse, at the forefront of the “new space”
CNIM Air Space creates envelopes for balloons and airships, which will spend 3 months in production. The firm works with Thales on stratospheric balloons. “The satellites cannot be changed often enough, the balloons come back,” says Gaetan Breurec, CEO of CNIM Espace Aérien.
“We are witnessing a certain number of technological leaps” also underlines Jean-Claude Dardelet, president of the Toulouse Attractiveness Agency.
Agronutris, symbol of Toulouse French Tech
Agronutris produces insect-based proteins in Toulouse. The young shoot raised 100 million euros in September to create 9 industrial units by 2029. And wants to be part of animal and human food, explains Cédric Auriol, co-founder and general manager of Agronutris.
On set with him, Carole Garat, vice-president of French Tech Toulouse. “We believe that ecology and growth are not incompatible”, she underlines, insisting on the necessary “scaling up of local start-ups, in space or mobility.
Bleu Jour manufactures PCs made in Europe
“80% of the turnover is for export” emphasizes Jean-Christophe Agobert, co-founder of the Toulouse company. Sales mainly concern companies. The firm had launched in 2014 a very noticed light PC in the form of a cube, soberly baptized “Kubb”.
