INFO LA DEPECHE. Toulouse: A neighbor suspected of the murder of the Bourbaki city
A 24-year-old man was presented this Friday evening February 18, 2022 to the investigating judge in charge of the investigation into the death of Philippe, 62. This man was killed by multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound. His body was discovered on Wednesday, November 17, cited Bourbaki in Toulouse.
The investigation into the violent death of Philippe, 62, found dead in his apartment in the Bourbaki city on November 17 in Toulouse is accelerated this week in the offices of the criminal division of the judicial police. Since the discovery of the bruised body of this man, the investigators explored all the tracks.
In the accommodation, closed from the inside but completely searched and returned, the victim who suffered from a disability had been found hit by numerous stab wounds but also with a gunshot wound at the base of the skull. The autopsy made it possible to extract a small caliber projectile but, on the other hand, the weapon used for this crime had not been found, like the bladed weapon used by the attacker(s).
A long work of taking clues led by forensic identification technicians had been carried out in the hours following the discovery of the tragedy, but no genetic trace discovered in the 5th floor apartment had so far “matched in the national file.
One of the first leads released as part of the investigations led to a possible revenge, or a theft linked to drug trafficking still active in this city in the Minimes district. The actors of this lucrative business could use the victim as a wet nurse. Without totally ruling out this possibility, the investigators of the territorial direction of the judicial police examined other hypotheses, in particular that of the heinous crime.
How did the suspect recover the victim’s bank card?
The work carried out in particular on the video surveillance images made it possible to establish a link between a neighbor and the use of the victim’s bank card. And on Thursday, this 24-year-old man was taken from the Toulouse-Seysses remand center to be placed in police custody. Last night, after two days of interrogation during which he had to answer many questions from the PJ police officers.
His DNA was also taken and then this suspect was presented to judge Fabrice Rives who is leading the investigation opened in early December for “murder”. He was indicted and the prosecution requested his detention late last night – he was already imprisoned following sexual violence committed on his company in December.
His lawyers Mes Ouafaë El Abdelli and Jocelyn Momasso Momasso, who stress that their client “kept silent” did not comment on his hearing. Like the Toulouse prosecutor’s office, which does not speak “at this stage”, on an “ongoing” instruction.
