Bordeaux will face theAS Monaco with a new coach, David Guion, arriving this week. Did this change Philippe Clément’s plans?
Bordeaux: Guion wants points against AS Monaco, from Sunday
It is Bordeaux the opponent of AS Monaco, this Sunday (5:05 p.m.) at Matmut Atlantique, during the 25th day of Ligue 1. Red lantern of the championship, the club with the scapular has appointed David Guion, as coach , this week. It is therefore the latter who will be on the sidelines of the Girondins, after the brief interim provided by Jaroslav Plasil, during the defeat at Lens (3-2). He thus replaces Petkovic, sacked on February 7 after the heavy defeat of FCGB (5-0) in Reims.
Presented at a press conference this Friday, the new Navy and White coach announced the color of his plan to ensure the maintenance of Bordeaux in the elite. “Maintenance goes through home results and victories. We also have to perform very well at Matmut and outside as well,” he declared, before challenging the Monegasques.
“The main thing is Monaco. I am totally focused on this match. I am focused and concentrated on this first deadline, to bring my players to perform from Sunday. We do not have time. You have to perform right away. From the first training, I set up what I want. You have to succeed in taking points against ASM. In our situation, all games are important, regardless of the opponent. We have to give the best of ourselves from Sunday”, named David Guion.
ASM: Philippe Clément, “we focus first on ourselves”
Asked at a press conference about this new deal in Gironde, Philippe Clement does not seem disturbed by the arrival of the former Stade de Reims coach at Château du Haillan. “Bordeaux has appointed a new coach, who has a reputation for organizing his teams well. But we focus on ourselves first,” he replied. “There are still a lot of things to build for a team capable of changing the system during the match and ready to respond to what the opponents offer,” said the Rocher club technician.
