A new sports hall will be born in Florence
A sports house with a 400-seat sports hall for basketball, volleyball and five-a-side football. The new structure, built according to the principles of green building and maximum energy efficiency, will be built in Florence, in the Novoli district, thanks to an investment of 3.6 million by the municipal administration. The area is close to via Geminiani and the public car park in via Marco da Gagliano, where there are already two outdoor sports fields. Today the first stone was laid with the mayor Dario Nardella, the president of the Tuscany Region Eugenio Giani, the councilor for sport Cosimo Guccione and the president of the Quartiere 5 Cristiano Balli.
“It’s a moment – said Nardella -. Let’s be serious, I remember that Florence and the metropolitan area are the first province in Italy for the quality of sports facilities. Every time we earn an Olympic medal or a great one, we must always think about what behind that result there is an extraordinary fabric of sports clubs, associations, amateur sports. I say this in a period in which there is much talk of the cost of energy that concerns families, businesses but also sport and for this reason we are keen to remember that attention to the environment in the construction of new sports facilities is fundamental “.
