Toulouse: “pharaonic” means to clean up Compans, have the garbage collectors been zealous for the arrival of President Macron?
Additional resources have been added. Classic, but irritating for some, while the trash cans of the strike are not yet all picked up.
“Usually we don’t say anything, but this is really big. “This union representative of the garbage collectors, who was on strike between mid-December and the end of January, had a hard time cashing in on the “draft of pharaonic means” put in place for the reception of President Macron.
“Between Monday and Tuesday, the day before the arrival of the president, special night teams were created to polish the Center sector. Rue de Rémusat, at the Capitole and as far as Saint-Sernin, and Compans, of course. On Wednesday, the President and his Minister of the Economy welcomed around twenty ministers for a summit in the space sector, at the Pierre Baudis center in Compans.
The neighborhood was cordoned off, with a ban on driving or walking on a large portion of boulevard Lascrosses, or even rue du Canon d’Arcole. Sixty-one vehicles were removed by the pound in the area. “It was really nickel, that, there is no problem”, smiles yellow, the person in charge.
The stigma of the strike has not all been erased
“In the meantime, he underlines, a month after the end of the strike, some neighborhoods have not yet been cleaned up. And it will certainly still take until March for them to be. Because with the new instructions and the end of the “finish-party”, the garbage collectors cannot finish their sectors. This is the case for the Colomiers, L’Union, Raisin depots and certain sectors of the Monlong depot”.
Trucks from private companies will still be used to collect garbage in certain areas, such as Colomiers this Wednesday afternoon. “The garbage collectors are working hard, and they are enforcing the new regulations. But they can’t do anything about it, the garbage has disappeared, and it will take as long as it takes to collect it”.
No less than 3,000 tons of waste must be collected, following the 52-day strike by garbage collectors in the Metropolis.
