Toulouse. Jean-Luc Moudenc alerts Emmanuel Macron to the “degraded situation” of justice

Jean-Luc Moudenc pull the alarm signal. the mayor of toulouse sent on Wednesday 16 February 2022 a letter to Emmanuel Macron to alert him to the “degraded” situation justice in the Pink City.
“I owe you today warn about the degraded situation of our justice in the fourth city of France. This is a serious time, both for the civil servants of the Ministry of Justice only for Toulousaines and Toulousains, ”wrote Jean-Luc Moudenc in his letter sent to the President of the Republic.
3,000 calls received each month by prosecutors
To support his proposals, the mayor of Toulouse relies on the following figures: 3,000 calls received per month by prosecutors, a decision rendered every eight minutes, 3,376 people referred in 2021 and 9 months of waiting for an appointment for child support. The city councilor also challenges the President of the Republic on the increase in the number of designated sexual violations and assaults in Toulouse.
The mayor of Toulouse also denounces the lack of means faced by justice professionals in the Pink City.
Statistically, the Judicial Court of Toulouse is the lowest ranked among the eleven most important jurisdictions in our countries: last with only 27 prosecutors and 69 judges, and eighth with regard to the registry (…). On average, there are 56 magistrates per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 61 in Bordeaux, 67 in Lyon or 77 in Lille.
“A degradation of service”
“Once again this year, the situation of the Toulouse Court will unfortunately experience a service degradation delivered to our fellow citizens. This will result in particular in an increase in the time for comparison before certain judges, the suppression of several penal hearingsbut also by the exhaustion of the magistrates and the administrative personnel of the jurisdiction, not to mention the departures of many civil servants from the registry to other more attractive concluded administrations”, concluded the mayor of Toulouse in his letter addressed to the President of the Republic.
