The very beautiful gift of a business leader to his employees
After 18 years at the head of his glazing company TIV, located in Treize-Septiers (Vendée), Jean-Yves Glumineau wanted to say his farewells as it should. In a letter addressed to his employees, he announced his retirement as well as a colossal gift to his 150 employees. “He told us it was for our participation,” said Kevin Lemosle, to France Info, still in shock. Indeed, more than 2.6 million euros in bonuses will be distributed among all, according to the time worked in the company, or an average of 18,000 euros gross per employee.
This sympathetic sum comes from the sale of the glazing business. This gesture by Jean-Yves Glumineau is above all a thank you for the work accomplished. “A man does nothing on his own, and if indeed the collaborators had not relayed the projects that animated me, if they had not had this involvement to make the company grow, we would not be here. today,” said the boss. Unfortunately, 60% of the bonus goes to employer and employee charges, but employees still earn 7,000 euros net, enough to consider a few projects.
Last December, in Spain, an entrepreneur distributed one million euros to his employees after a year he described as “historic” for the company. After the announcement of the company’s results, the employees received a raffle ticket which concealed a special Christmas bonus. Indeed, all the numbers distributed were winners.
