Venice, the two children overcome Covid, the mother no: they had not been vaccinated
The son and daughter managed to overcome the disease, the mother did not: Covid killed her on Monday. And now Renzo and Franca rethink their choices. They regretted not checking vaccinated and arriving that, as soon as they can, they will rush to a hub. The drama comes from Annone Veneto (Venice) where the 66-year-old Maria Teresa Bedin resided, she too, like her two children, not vaccinated. “None of us three had joined the campaign – says his daughter Franca – The fear of the vaccine. On television, conflicting information has been heard for months, particularly with respect to adverse affects. If we could go back we would get vaccinated ». The whole family of Maria Teresa Bedin had strong doubts about the vaccination campaign.
The third son Paolo
The third child, Paolo, had doubts, but – reports his sister – a few months ago he would have changed his mind by choosing to get vaccinated. However, he had been the only one to retrace his steps because Maria Teresa, Renzo and Franca had remained in their positions; despite the explosion of cases during the fourth wave and the losses to social life imposed by the green pass. “I underwent continuous tampons for months – continues the daughter – but the green pass has never convinced me to vaccinate, the fear was stronger ». A fear – born about a year ago after the withdrawal of some lots of Astrazeneca – also shared by the mother who, despite being prudent and shrewd in social relationships, has become infected in recent weeks. Shortly before, Renzo had also tested positive and the swab also confirmed his sister’s infection. The three isolate themselves but the disease evolves in a different way.
Breathing difficulties begin
Franca, the daughter, is the one who suffers fewer symptoms, while her brother and mother begin to have breathing difficulties. Which soon become real air crises. The woman is then rushed to hospital in Jesolo while her son ends up in the hospital in Portogruaro. Renzo is discharged after a few days, but his mother can’t do it and dies on Monday. «We are destroyed, both my brother and I – continues Franca, who is currently still in isolation – we both rethought our choice and going back we would make different decisions. Now, having become infected, we cannot get vaccinated immediately but as soon as possible, given what has happened, I believe that neither of us will waste time and we will go and get vaccinated ». Meanwhile Giai, the hamlet of Annone where Maria Teresa Bedin lived, is in mourning. It is a small town, where everyone knows each other and the woman was very popular; also because she had been through a lot in her life. Her husband had left the house many years ago, only to die shortly thereafter, and the woman had raised her children practically alone.
