Toulouse: in Les Pradettes, residents opposed the installation of a 5G antenna
On January 21, the town hall gave its agreement for the establishment of a relay antenna on municipal land, just next to the Pradettes football stadium. Neighbors oppose it.
The chosen site is located in the heart of the Pradettes district. The proximity of the future relay antenna to several houses and 2 buildings (40 meters away) is worrying. Its installation is also close to the Occitan college (less than 200 meters), the Ferdinand de Lesseps primary school and the Avempace school. “This location does not seem to respond to the evidence of the precautionary principle now enshrined in the constitution and recognized by case law,” scolds a local resident.
Residents have written a petition to get this 5G antenna moved. We need to find a more suitable place. There is an urgent need to act because the building permit is about to be filed by Bouygues”, is alarmed by the local resident.
The installation of the antenna relay would also pose a visual problem. This environment of the Pradettes stadium, pleasant to live in for all families, will be degraded by the construction of this relay antenna”, assures a resident before questioning: “What quality of life for the residents whose windows will overlook this pylon? “.
“I want everyone to be satisfied”
Residents designated to tow at the Pradettes market to “warn their neighbors”. “We are already ‘lucky’ to have been warned because in some neighborhoods, antennas are installed without any consultation with local residents,” they say.
On the side of the town hall, “we look at what it is possible to do”. “It is always very complicated, explains Jean-Baptiste De Scorraille, deputy mayor in charge of the antenna file. It is the state that oversees the file. But I have at heart to obtain the satisfaction of all. With Bouygues, we are studying the subject to see what can be done. Maybe we can’t do anything.”
Two other antennas are to be installed on avenue Grynfogel and rue Tastavin. Residents do not oppose their installation, which will be done far from homes
