Champions League: Seiwald fit for Salzburg-Kracher against Bayern – football
Salzburg – Tuesday, February 15, 2022, 3:04 p.m
FC Red Bull Salzburg can be seen on Wednesday (from 9 p.m. on ServusTV or in the LIVE Ticker with in-match clips) in the round of 16 of the Champions League at home against FC Bayern Munich already fall back on midfielder Nicolas Seiwald.
“It’s very gratifying that Nici has returned so quickly,” said coach Matthias Jaissle happily at the press conference on Tuesday before the eagerly awaited duel against the German record champions.
The 20-year-old shooting star of this season undergoes a meniscus operation and can look forward to a surprisingly quick recovery. However, Seiwald may only be used as a joker. The self-made player already played this role in the Bundesliga hit at SK Rapid.
Sesko use uncertain
“It goes without saying that he’s not at 100 percent after just three training sessions. But he’s definitely an alternative for tomorrow. Let’s see how long he can hold out,” said Jaissle, who still has to worry about Benjamin Sesko playing .
The Slovenian striker continues to struggle with a thigh muscle problem. “It is very, very questionable whether he will be fit for tomorrow.” Luka Sucic is also not an issue. “He still has a training deficit after his illness. He doesn’t feel fit yet.”
Veteran Zlatko Junuzovic has been out of action since August due to a heel injury. But the long-awaited comeback is within reach. It could even be the case on Wednesday against Bayern.
Jaissle: “Zladdi is back in team training after a very, very long layoff due to injury. If at all, he’ll only be available for a few minutes on Wednesday.”
