President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in the course of public communication with the mayor of Kharkiv, Igor Terekhov, observed not to be shy to speak Russian. They write about it “Ukrainian news”.
The day before, an off-site meeting of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine was held in Kharkiv.
“You, Mr. Terekhov, do not be shy. We were embarrassed to switch to Russian… We are not afraid of this, we know that many people in Kharkiv speak Russian, but everyone thinks in Ukrainian,” Zelensky said.
In fact, precisely because pro-Ukrainian citizens live in Kharkiv, in 2014 “no one surrendered Kharkiv to the invaders.”
In January Zelensky declaredthat Russia and Ukraine are already at war with each other. The President of Ukraine is sure that all citizens are their country from Russia, and not just citizens. He also suggested that Russian troops were occupying Kharkiv. The words of the Ukrainian leader had to be explained to his press secretary.
In response, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov to pay Zelensky to be more careful with words about the threat of the occupation of Kharkov. He also noted that in the event of a real attack on Kharkov, “both power and the opportunity to get hand in hand.”
Zelensky replied to a user’s comment Instagram under the video message following the meeting of the National Security and Defense Council. The head of the republic declared that Kharkiv would never be occupied.
