the “Blablabla checkout” recreates social ties in supermarkets
Want to take the time to chat with a cashier at the end of your course? It is now possible thanks to the “Blablabla cash” concept freshly landed at the Crossroads of Labège. a little over two weeks, next to the checkouts from the rapids, the “Blablabla checkout” slows down the pace to a better “customer experience”.
Intended for recreate social ties, this concept imported from the Netherlands, has met with some enthusiasm. “This time for discussion is very precious, especially for isolated people” welcomes Jerome Bassireception, customer and service manager at Carrefour Labège, interviewed by The Independent Opinion.
More human connections
Since the launch of the concept, customers have been delighted to be able to converse with a cashier. This brings conviviality where the action of shopping can appear mechanical and trivial. If the customers consume themselves at the game, the cashiers are also seduced by the initiative.
Many of them volunteer daily. They enjoy interacting with customers. Moreover, this is the essence of their job: to discuss and create social ties” recalls Jérôme Bassi.

The “Blablabla crate” goes elsewhere register over time. Building on its success, the brand is even considering adding a second one. “The checkout line is large in Labège, so to allow our customers to make the most of it, especially on Saturdays, when many checkouts are open, we are thinking to add a box where you can chat with the hostess. Our goal is to bring satisfaction to our customers. If they ask us, we will.”
