Toulouse: the Maison du Christ-Roi becomes a business center
Since mid-January, the Diocesan House has housed the Village Philoté, which includes a business complex for companies. A bucolic place, open to all, which should ultimately help the Church to keep the diocese.
On a very peaceful four-hectare site, located in the Côte Pavée district, the Maison Diocésaine du Christ Roi has housed the Village Philoté since January 21, 2022, bringing together a “business center” for meetings, seminars and various events, i.e. six rooms , a 200-seat conference space, the Agapê restaurant with terrace and the 25-room Philoté hotel. Directed by Patrice Bucchianeri, director of the management association of the Diocesan Houses of Toulouse (AGMD), this initiative is part of a long history: “The Diocesan House of Christ the King brings together the services of the Church of Haute-Garonne (catechism for children and adults), explains Patrice Bucchianeri, former bursar of the diocese of Tarentaise (Rhônes-Alpes).
A versatile place
A complex that has had multiple functions over time, including that of a school run by nuns in the 1970s. A 12-room hostel still welcomes students from all over the world. In this House where many places were unoccupied and dilapidated, Monsignor Le Gall, then Archbishop of Toulouse, decided, after two years of reflection, for a total renovation. A way to make it accessible to all and also to show that the Church can project itself into the future. »
This place of reception for seminars and meetings, is accompanied by a car park with 200 spaces: “The next stage is the enhancement of the park open to the public, finished Patrice Bucchianeri. And then, let’s face it, the Village Philoté must also, in the long term, help to balance the accounts of the Diocesan House. A place that Toulouse has chosen to keep unlike other cities in France. »
