Toulouse: The Comble-Moi’ association seduces everyone
Since December 2021, the association of graffiti artists “Comble Moi” has been redesigning the interior of the Ô Patio Mio restaurant, on the Jean-Jaurès alleys. A work that should be the subject of an auction in the spring.
At the start, there is the Ô Patio Mio restaurant on the Jean Jaurès de Gwen and Sergio alleys, installed in the city’s former marble factory. December 2021 and until the end of June 2022, the association of graffiti artists “Comble-Moi”, brilliantly redecorates the various evenings of the restaurant, including the staircase which, in time, should host a fresco. “Nine artists worked on this project, which is supposed to fill the artists, the public and the place of course, hence the name”, assure Nilsniro and Fanny Jamme de la Gazelle, artistic directors.
In the spring, Marc Labarbe should auction the work of these graffiti artists for the benefit of a charity association
A work elaborated around an introduction, a restitution and an artist’s passion. “Either the three academic phases”. A collective that also expresses its dissatisfaction: “With this artistic residency, we wanted to do something else, admits Hall, visual artist, who has already done similar work for auctioneer Marc Labarbe in 2021. For too long, urban art in Toulouse is represented by the same artists, certainly pioneers of graffiti on the city. You have to dare to change around new expressions and new talents”. Like Sema, graffiti artist, “happy to finally show his creativity” for the first time in Toulouse and whose identity around lettering bathes this project. Small detail that is important: Indoors, these graffiti artists use recyclable water bombs. In the spring, Marc Labarbe should auction off their work for the benefit of a charity association.
