What Austria can learn from Denmark
Without the threat of overburdening the hospitals and especially the intensive care units, there are no restrictions on the freedom of the population. The consistency and far-sightedness of some countries is remarkable.
If, after two years of the pandemic, one thing is undisputed, it is that no country did everything right or everything wrong in the fight against the corona crisis. In any case, comparisons are only informative to a limited extent, because factors such as the age structure of the population, population density, climatic conditions and the quality of the health system are also taken into account when evaluating different strategies.
However, this does not mean that comparisons are not permissible and cannot benefit from the experiences of other countries. From countries such as Denmark, where all corona measures were lifted at the beginning of February because Covid-19 is no longer considered a “socially critical disease”.
Even the mask and quarantine requirements have fallen – which can be seen in view of the persistently high number of new infections and deserves a closer look.
