EC with a procedure against Bulgaria for weapons
The countries in question are offered two months to respond and meet the requirements. Otherwise, the EC may refer the matter to the Court of Justice.

The European Commission announced on Wednesday that it was sending a “reasoned position” to Bulgaria, Greece, Ireland and Luxembourg, and a request from them to communicate EU rules on warning and alert bodies has been transposed into national law.
These rules are aimed at preventing the possibility of modifying warning and signal weapons designed to fire only blank munitions or irritants into deadly firearms, the statement said, according to a BTA correspondent in Brussels.
EU countries have agreed on technical requirements for alert and alert bodies, including the procedure for checking compliance and the need for data exchange.
The states should introduce the national requirements of the rules by January 17, 2020, and in May the EC will send an officially known letter to each of these countries.
The countries have two months to gather at the EC what measures have been taken. Otherwise, the EC may refer the matter to the Court of Justice.
In another decision on Wednesday, the EC sent a reasoned position to Bulgaria, Luxembourg and Sweden with a request to gather how to introduce EU rules on the marking of firearms and their main parts.
These firearms rules must have a clear, permanent and unique label on the market, which facilitates the tracing of firearms in the EU and helps to spread the black market.
