Do you live in Monaco? Here are 5 grants to reduce your carbon footprint and your bills
The Prince’s Government offers several aids to support you in your energy transition.
1. Renovate your windows
This aid is part of the Recovery Plan: thanks to it, you can receive financial aid equivalent to 40% of the amount of the work, up to a limit of 400 euros per window. In addition, bonuses are invoked, especially if you use a company located in Monaco.
Easier, therefore, to replace single-glazed windows to better insulate yourself from the cold and considerably reduce your energy and financial expenses!
An initial assessment of this operation was also carried out at the end of January: since its implementation in August 2020, more than 420 windows have been restored in the Principality, which has generated total aid of more than 190,000 euros by the Fund National Green. This grant will be available for any file submitted before August 31, 2025.
2. Buy an electric or hybrid vehicle
If you still hesitate to swap your thermal vehicle for a cleaner vehicleknow that the Principality set up a purchase bonus almost thirty years ago, but which was redesigned in 2019.
It is therefore possible to obtain a fixed bonus for any electric or hybrid-electric vehicle with CO emissions.2 less than or equal to 110g/km. A premium includes between 3,000 and 6,000 euros, depending on the emission rate. Four-wheelers emitting less than 21g/km even qualify for aid of 30% of the base price of the vehicle, up to a limit of 10,000 euros. Aid for the purchase of electric bicycles is also possible, the amount of which varies according to the power.
Another significant advantage: electric vehicles can be recharged free of charge at terminals in public car parks and on public roads. Parking is also free on public roads, thanks to the license plate number VE.

3. Insulate your roof
It is considered today as one of the largest sources of heat loss. A poorly insulated roof wastes energy (particularly in terms of heating), while good insulation can drastically reduce consumption and lower your bill!
To kill two birds with one stone, it is possible to insulate the roof of the dwellings completed for at least ten years by receiving a grant from the Principality. This aid is set at 35% of the amount of the work, up to a limit of 50,000 euros.
Bonuses are even possible if you use a company established in Monaco!
4. Installer of photovoltaic panels
To get out of nuclear power and move towards clean energy, some owners put on solar power. A requested equipment, the installation price of which is on average between 9,000 and 12,000 euros, according to the supplier Engie.
If you accept the intention to switch to solar, the Government can provide assistance for panels whose installed power is greater than 3 kWp (kilowatt peak, ie the maximum power supplied by the system under standard conditions).
This aid is €0.36 excluding VAT/kWh (kilowatt hour) produced for flat roofs and €0.53 excluding VAT/kWh produced for other cases.
And to go even further in the energy transition, a subsidy also exists for the complete installation of a solar thermal system, to produce heating or hot water in old buildings. Aid of up to 30% of the total cost (equipment and installation), capped at 30,000 euros, can be granted on file.

5. Carry out your energy audit
Note that it is also possible to obtain financial assistance from the government to carry out a complete audit of his place of residence ? Subject to a legal obligation since 2018, your audit can be covered up to 50% this year, within the limit of 6,700 euros.
Please note: in order to encourage the resident population to carry out their audit as quickly as possible in order to better understand and curb their energy consumption, the percentage is decreasing.
