Toulouse. The Toulousaines have taken Chartres by storm!
> The essential
Seventh consecutive victory for Toulouse Métropole Basket last night which takes its revenge for the first leg. It obviously retains first place in the rankings and comfort itself. The TMB now has two victories ahead of its main pursuers, including Mondeville beaten yesterday at home by Aulnoye-Aymeries.
> The encounter
From the first balls on note of the defensive intensity on both sides of the field. So if the teams are skilful, the baskets are never easy. Belleka quickly illustrated (4-2, 2nd). Debaut managed his first 3 points (4-8, 3rd). Belleka, again, reverses the trend (11-8, 6th). Long and Farcy finished the first quarter with a bang (15-20, 10th).
The TMB, with Jakovljevic in charge, started the second quarter in the same way (20-20, 12th). Chartres resists a time (22-24, 14th) but can only score 6 points in 10 minutes. And when we believe the TMB handicapped by a recall on the bench of Robinson and Loyd on their second faults, the TMB proves that the mobility of Brochant can compensate.
At halftime the leader sounded already confirmed (33-26).
On recovery, Chartres first increases its aggressiveness slider in defense, adapting better than Toulouse to permissive arbitration. Mfutila equalizes (35-35, 24th). A 3 point from De Freitas (6 out of 9 in shots, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 19 evaluation in the end) revives the TMB which continues to muzzle Married (0 out of 6 in shots and 0 evaluation for the Chartres leader) . This is also one of the good reasons for this success in Toulouse.
Once again with a remarkable Jakovljevic (10 points, 5 rebounds, 15 rating) as a leader, and Strunc, Loyd and Robinson (also valuable in defense and rebounds) at the conclusion, Toulouse ended the third period with an 11- 2 (51-40, 30th).
It’s finish. Chartres has run out of juice. Two 3 points from Bienvenu create an illusion (56-48, 32nd) before the trio Belleka (54% success in shots in the end), Loyd (55% success), Strunc (5 fouls caused) take the final lead of the TMB at 18 points.
