Volley. The torpor outside for the Quimper Volley 29 in Monaco – Volleyball
female elite. Monaco – Quimper Volleyball 29: 3-1
Intractable at home, Quimper Volley 29 shines less far from its bases. Opportunistic and determined, Monaco, whose last victory dated back to November 20, took advantage of it on Saturday to seize their chance and win an unexpected but well-deserved victory in four sets. The Finisteriennes however took the best start, the services of Dioumanera well followed in the net by the blocks of Gel Ramos placed the visiting team on good track (1-5). But the Monegasques responded with Dembele, came back to 12-12, before taking the lead 14-13. At the start of money-time, Quimper however found colors, and made a mini break (21-23). Monaco then saved a first set point at 22-24, but gave in on an attack from Davenport.
Service not included
The game lost its intensity early in the second set. But Monaco supported his services and the Breton reception faltered. And as Erhart distributed perfectly for his attackers, the gap widened inexorably (12-9 then 21-15). Quimper’s awakening too late did not prevent Monaco from equalizing at one set everywhere.
The same causes produce the same effects, Quimper still suffered in the third set. Between the services of Portaneri 11-9 and the powerful attacks of Dembele Monaco clearly reflect the ascendancy (18-12, 22-15). Quimper, with absent subscribers, sank, a symbol, on an unthinkable rotation error. The result was not better negotiated, and the reception was still floating at the start of the fourth set (4-0).
Under the impetus of Nowak, Quimper returned to contact (15-15) and even lost an advantage that one might have thought decisive (19-22). But individual and collective mastery was absent. Monaco took the opportunity to come back to 23-23. A block on Davenport and an ace to follow confirmed this visiting discomfiture.
