H. Videmont, who leaves Lithuania with a personal prize: “I felt at home here”
Hugo Videmontas withdrew two statuettes at the Optibet Lithuanian Football Awards earlier this week and officially ended his career with this accent.
The player from France received the prize as the most productive player of the Optibet A league last season (17 goals) and later entered the stage again – to withdraw the prize as the best player of the championship.
“Of course I am very happy, it is important to win this trophy. Two years ago, when I came to Žalgiris, my career was going down. I am glad that I was very successful in starting again in Vilnius and winning these titles. But I can only repeat that I would not be here without my team, ”said H. Videmontas, who had been playing in Vilnius for two and a half years.
Remembering his arrival in Vilnius, he said that his career was not successful, but the stage in Lithuania helped to regain confidence and feel his game again.
“I wanted to start my career from scratch. When I was young, I was talented, but at one time things started to go down. Then coming to “Žalgiris” was the best option and the best choice for me, “said the athlete.
He also added that he had excellent conditions in Lithuania, fully satisfied not only him but also his family.
“I felt at home here. My son grew up in Vilnius, where I spent the two best years of my football career. The city, the old town, the conditions for children, the school – everything was wonderful here, ”the striker of the country did not spare the good words next to us.
However, the stage in Lithuania – from this year H. Videmontas will have several matches in Kazakhstan and will start in the championship of this country. Despite the fact that he was voted the best in Lithuania, the French believe that in the new country everything will have to be proved again.
“It simply came to our notice then. Although I was chosen as the best player of the championship here, I will not ride this statue when I arrive in Kazakhstan, I will have to work and prove everything again. “I have proved that I am a good player here, and now I will have to prove it in Kazakhstan,” he said.
