AS Monaco crosses the bar of 20 million fans on the networks
AS Monaco has just exceeded the symbolic milestone of 20 million subscribers on social networks. Boosted by the 3rd strongest growth at European level and particularly dynamic on TikTok where the milestone of 3 million followers has been reached, AS Monaco’s audience on social networks is the 16th largest in Europe, the most great in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain.
AS Monaco continues to grow on social networks. While the Club had 15 million fans in February 2021, it now totals more than 20 million, an increase of more than 30% in less than a year. Strong growth which rewards the efforts of the club, eager to develop the influence of AS Monaco and to address a young and connected audience, with a tone and content adapted to each platform, in the wake of the launch of the new brand in May 2021.
A meteoric rise on TikTok
Symbol of this success, ICT Tac is the network on which the Club has accelerated the most, with now 3 million subscribers – a figure multiplied by 8 since the start of the season – and more than 60 million videos viewed each month.
A reinforced 2nd place in Ligue 1, a progression to 16th place in Europe, ever more fans around the world. International, the global audience of AS Monaco is divided between Europe, Russia, North Africa, Latin America and Asia. In China, where AS Monaco launched social networks in the summer of 2018 on the occasion of the Champions Trophy played in Shenzhen, nearly 2 million followers follow the Red and Whites on Douyin, Toutiao and above all Weibo (1 .6 million).
Biggest growth in France behind PSG, 16th place in Europe
Efforts to support this development have led the club to make, in recent months, its content available in new languages (German, Indonesian) and therefore accessible to new audiences. After becoming the second Ligue 1 club with the most followers less than two years ago, AS Monaco continues to widen the gap with its main French competitors. Since the start of the season, AS Monaco is the club that has registered the most new fans on social networks after Paris Saint-Germain: 3.5 million.
At European level, AS Monaco, 20th two years ago, continues to progress and is now in 16th place, between Atlético Madrid (15th) and ahead of AS Roma (17th). Since the start of the season, only two clubs in the Top 40 have experienced greater growth in their digital audience.
Diversification of content
In terms of commitment and videos viewed, AS Monaco is making just as much progress. The Club has already recorded more interactions since the start of the season than during the whole of the last season. At the end of December, the bar of 200 million videos viewed for the 2021-22 financial year was also exceeded.
These performances are accompanied by a diversification of the formats offered, such as the Twitch channel. AS Monaco broadcasts content related to the activities of its Esports team there, as well as Academy matches or live commentary from the pro team’s matches on the Stad’Inside program where supporters, former players and special guests (Luidji, Julien Beats, Paul de Saint Sernin…).
