It’s not new, AS Monaco is very involved in digital and new technologies. It was only a matter of time, but the Monegasque club has just exceed the 20 million fan mark on its social networks. It is second largest community in Ligue 1 behind PSG, and continues to outpace its main French competitors. In Europe, it is now the 16th most importantjust behind Atlético de Madrid.
AS Monaco crosses the 20 million fan mark
The Principality’s club is experiencing incredible growth since it is the third fastest growing at European level. This development is well helped by the rise of its TikTok account, which has exceeded the 3 million mark, a figure multiplied by 8 since the start of the season. ASM’s digital audience is becoming more international. Beyond the European continent, the club extends to regions such as Latin America and Asia. In China, where AS Monaco launched social networks in the summer of 2018, on the occasion of the Champions Trophy played in Shenzhen, nearly 2 million followers followed the Red and Whites on Douyin, Toutiao and especially on Weibo (1.6 million).
A digital engagement to get closer to fans
“Crossing this milestone is a great satisfaction for the club, says marketing director Markus Breglec in a statement. This significant commitment is a sign of the fans’ adherence to the strategy put in place and the content offered in order to allow them, on the various platforms where AS Monaco is present, to follow more closely the news of our teams. ». It’s no wonder to see ASM’s diversification continue on Twitch, where the club streams content from its Esports team, as well as live commentary from pro matches with special guests.
