Toulouse. The malaise of the animators of the leisure centers who say they are “underpaid”
On Thursday, a hundred organizers and directors of Leisure Centers Associated with the School (CLAE) worked on the Place du Capitole. They are protesting against the drop in their income following the revision of their remuneration which came into force in January.
At the end of 2021, allowances for part-time CLAE staff were smoothed over the year. At the time of receiving their salary for the month of January, the facilitators discovered with amazement that they had lost an average of 300 € on their payslip. Up to €600 for directors.
Their income is now calculated over 12 months, “it’s normal that there is a drop”, concedes Romain, host for six years. “But we didn’t expect to lose so much,” he summed up annoyed. All had indeed signed their new contracts at the end of December “by trusting the Department of Education”, recalls Philippe Girard. The SUD union representative indicates that the HRD of this one “acknowledged to have made a big dumpling”, after having communicated to the CLAE erroneous tariff grids.
The majority of CLAE employees do not work full time and have a precarious status. Like this director of CLAE who has been doing fixed-term contracts for 11 years. “We are still executive B”, exclaims another, who “is still waiting for her bonus”, for having looked after the children of caregivers during the first wave of Covid-19. Animator 16 hours a week, Melissa had been offered a contract at 28 hours. She was finally forced to sign one for 8 p.m. in an emergency, under penalty of not being paid in January.
The town hall of Toulouse ensures for its part “that at the end of this year 2022, the agents will have received a remuneration significantly higher than the previous year”. A new day of mobilization is scheduled for this Friday at 2 p.m. at the Municipal House of Families.
