Covid vaccines: how Belgium is helping Africa become more self-sufficient
Africa wants to produce 60% of the anti-covid vaccines it needs for 2040 itself. Factory construction projects are multiplying.

PAfter the start of major vaccination campaigns, only 11% of the African population has been fully vaccinated to date. One of the main explanations for this delay is related to supply difficulties. Africa depends almost entirely on other parts of the world for this one. Less than 5% of the vaccines administered were produced on its soil. Consequence: it passed after the rich countries which monopolized in priority the doses for their population but also after certain developing countries which, like India, have their own production sites…
