The Parliamentary Committee on Culture and Media voted on the first reading of the budget for 2022. The bill on the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria, submitted by the Council of Ministers, was presented by Vessela Kondakova – Deputy Minister of Culture, Rositsa Spasova – Head of Department expenses “to the Ministry of Finance, the general directors of BNT – Emil Koshlukov, of BNR – Milen Mitev, of BTA – Kiril Valchev and representatives of CEM.
The chairman of the media commission Toshko Yordanov reminded that the budget will be updated in the middle of the year.
“I hope there will be an upward update on how the organization is doing and how well they are absorbing the budget they will now receive,” he added.

The draft budget of the Ministry of Culture (MC) envisages nearly BGN 344.5 million. The increase amounts to nearly BGN 100 million, which is an increase of 40.83 percent compared to the budget for the year. The budget for BNT is a little over 82.5 million euros. BNT Director General Emil Koshlukov said the budget did not cover BNT’s needs, but said national television would manage. He says some of the needs he says are not covered by this budget – digitalisation, distribution and broadcasting rights. According to him, advertising revenues have almost doubled.
