ASM-OL: finally a revenge?
AS Monaco will host Olympique Lyonnais this weekend on behalf of the 23rd day of Ligue 1. The Asémistes will confirm the good result obtained against Lens in the Coupe de France and will show a different face than against Montpellier. Focus.
A revitalized Rhone team
It’s been 7 matches in all competitions that Lyon have not lost. A great performance, especially since in the last three games there have been two victories at Saint-Étienne (1-0) and Troyes (0-1) as well as a draw against PSG (1-1).
Then on two transfers not too bad which are added. Certainly Lyon sold Guimaraes to Newcastle but they still recover Faivre for 15 million euros in transfer but also and especially Ndombele to Tottenham on loan until the end of the season with in addition an option to buy (at 65 million anyway).
Finally, Les Gones won their late match on Tuesday evening against OM. An important duel which shows that they are not afraid against the big players of L1.
And the ASM then?
Monaco defeated Lens in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, currently 9th in the championship with a score of 2 to 4.
We saw an attractive attack with very quickly a river score of 0-3. A rather remarkable efficiency because almost as many goals as shots and executives who respond present like Ben Yedder and Diop.
On the other hand, we saw a rather weak defense which quickly took two goals and which could have taken many more without a Mannone on fire. The worst is that the opposing goals and danger mainly produced long shots but the attackers had time to shoot and that is the problem…
Did you know ?
Open since 1857, the Tête d’Or park is located in Lyon. It includes a zoo, parks and a botanical garden.
It is very large and extends over more than 100 hectares. There are also rides, a lot of small restaurants. The most typical when you go there are the big golden doors and the huge gates all around. But it is above all a beautiful free zoo for the whole family with giraffes, zebras, monkeys…
In short, a good time to share if the weather permits.
This match promises to be very complicated for ASM, and sounds a bit like a car, the Reds and Whites will be keen to finally win against the Lyonnais, which has not happened for a long time in the league. And then it’s also a way for Clément to prove that he is the sign of renewal, because the defeats against the big Ligue 1 teams are also a bit the reason for Kovac’s dismissal… so we will have to win this time!
