Ornella Muti wanted to get Russian citizenship and speak Russian – Culture
ROME, 1 February. /Corr. TASS Vera Shcherbakova/. Italian actress Ornella Muti said on Tuesday in an interview with TASS that she would like to become a citizen of Russia and considers Russian culture part of her own.
“It would be nice for me to get citizenship, because it’s part of my mother culture. She died this year, and it would be a gift for her,” said the actress. She said that the necessary documents are gradually being collected, but much rests on the complexity of the Italian bureaucracy. Muti has long been calculated in Russian, but so far he does not speak fluently. “I’m learning the language on my own [приложении] Babbel. I slowly learned the Cyrillic alphabet and understand something, but your grammar is formed, and then, when you learn the Cyrillic alphabet, you still confuse the letters. I need practice, it would be nice to go to Russia for a few months,” the actress wished.
She recalls that her grandmother was born in St. Petersburg, she and her husband left for Estonia, where Francesca Romana Rivelli’s mother was born in Soviet times. This is the real name of the actress, who was born in Rome. “My mother doesn’t know Russian very well, but I remember how she sang songs to me (in Russian): “Grandma, grandmother, grandmother has come.” “There is never enough time for stories, when my mother was alive, we all time they fled somewhere, in a hurry, but I’m looking for a notebook that my mother kept, which tells the whole story of the family. When my mother believed in her feelings, they seemed to be the producers of magic, because Russia is magical,” the agency’s interlocutor returned.
Muti believes that the Italians and Russians are quite close. This gives me a sea of emotions and fills me with joy, because for any actor the reward is the love of the public. Love and appreciation of the public give artistic strength, inspiration, I want to go forward, experiment, it will never come true, “said the actress.
On February 1, Muti will for the first time host the opening night of the famous Italian pop song festival in San Remo, which is broadcast live on Italian state television, as well as in other countries. At the age of 14, Muti starred with Damiano Damiani in the film “The Most Beautiful Wife” (La moglie piu bella, 1970).
