ÖH Uni Salzburg ad new student ticket: Is an important step!
Salzburg – The ÖH Uni Salzburg welcomes the introduction of the new Salzburg Student climate ticket, which reduces the semester ticket in the state of Salzburg for students up to the age of 26 from 150 to 137 euros. “This is an important step in the right direction for an attractive and affordable transport offer for students in Salzburg, Chairman of the ÖH Uni Salzburg.
The new student ticket is an important step so that Salzburg’s students can get to the university cheaper in the future. Nevertheless, this step must be followed by further measures. “A central point concerns the age limit of 26 years, because on average students at Austrian universities are 27.1 years old and therefore many students are excluded from such tickets. Such age limits should be removed in order to enable inexpensive, attractive mobility for all students”. , demands Lara Simonitsch, 1st deputy chairwoman of the ÖH Uni Salzburg.
In addition, work must be done constantly to make the public transport offer more attractive, for example in terms of connecting the city to the Salzburg districts and the surrounding communities or the clocking of day and night times. “We are sticking to the fact that public transport is not only a cheap, but also fast and climate-friendly way of getting around to and from the place of study. Because such investments for young people are clear investments in the future, in which it will hopefully be even more natural to use public transport or a bicycle instead of your own car,” concludes Laura Reppmann, chairwoman of the ÖH Uni Salzburg.
