Börse Express – Excellent employer: Novartis Austria is “Top Employer 2022”
Various initiatives make Novartis one of the most attractive employers in the pharmaceutical industry.
Vienna (OTS) – “We are very pleased that the Novartis Austria Group has once again been certified as a ‘Top Employer’. The award was given because, as a research-based pharmaceutical company, we are strongly geared to our needs and well-being and it is a nice tribute to the outstanding working and development environment at Novartis in Austria,” says Michael Kocher, Country President of Novartis Austria. The independent Top Employers Institute certifies employers worldwide who offer excellent working conditions and constantly work to further improve the way they handle their takeovers. It is based on a multi-level certification program examining human resource management with full feedback.
“The last year was a great challenge for all of us, especially with regard to the well-being of our likely. Against this background, we are very pleased about the award as Top Employer 2022 in Austria and thus being one of 11 companies in Austria to be in the limelight,” says Lydia Sedlmayr, Head People & Organization Novartis Austria.
Novartis Austria was particularly convincing with a successful, long-term change management strategy and successful employee communication during change processes. Furthermore, Novartis is characterized by a modern management culture, a comprehensive framework concept and individual development opportunities in the form of special training and further education programs. These programs were expanded further last year and made accessible on mobile devices. New working time models make it possible to organize everyday work flexibly and thus to better reconcile work and private life. However, this also entails the risk that the boundary between work and private life will increasingly disappear. Novartis was able to score here with a company-wide holistic well-being strategy with numerous initiatives and online programs for all benefits throughout Austria.
“As a highly innovative, research-based company, it is immensely important for us to attract the best minds. The ‘Top Employer’ award can provide us with significant support in recruiting these talents,” explains Lydia Sedlmayr, Head of People & Organization at Novartis.
Numerous initiatives make Novartis one of the most attractive employers in the pharmaceutical industry in Austria. For example, Novartis offers 14 weeks of paid parental leave for all new parents – from the first day of employment at the company for both women and men. Another example of employee orientation is the flexible working environment – choices with responsibility. Since 2020, Novartis has given its employees more choices about how and where they want to work, whether they come to the office on a working day or work from home.
