Toulouse: via an ingenious scam, they reimburse themselves for imaginary parcels
There are many scams. This time, it’s a very deceitful trick to get reimbursed for non-existent property that two young people have set up. Midi-Free recounts this scam which consisted, for these two 21-year-old students, in going to a post office in the town of Colomiers, near Toulouse, in Haute-Garonne. On automatic machines, they chose insurance that allows any honest person to cover themselves, at most, up to 1,000 euros, details for his part 20 minutes.
A slightly more complex phase then began. But that was not a concern for these two individuals. The crooks had the mission of stealing a postage stamp or trapping an employee in order to validate the sending of their package. Problem, this one was never sent, and was probably totally fake. Then, the two young people, supporting evidence, in the form of invoices, declared the loss of these goods supposedly transmitted in a completely normal way. This will allow them to launch a reimbursement procedure for these expensive items, in particular smartphones, tells 20 Minutes.
The scam worked three times. Finally, when the damage reached 2,000 euros, the scam ended and they were flushed out. La Poste, becoming suspicious, filed a complaint. On the side of the students, they have recognized their misdeeds and will, in fact, be compared by a “plead-guilty” procedure.
