Toulouse plummets in the ranking of cities where “we live best in France”
33rd out of 34,827 municipalities. It is the place of the pink city in the ranking from Sunday newspaper (JDD). Toulouse therefore fell by 4 seater. The classification is carried out according to 187 criteria, details the JDD.
Among them, real estate attractiveness, safety, health, life quality or transport. Namely that the quality of life category includes the criteria of the unemployment rate or that of broadband coverage. The latter will thus have “more weight than that of sports and leisure, including the number of football fields, gymnasiums or museums” specifies the JDD.
Toulouse overtaken by Montpellier and Bordeaux
According to the classification of JDD, Bordeaux is positioned in 14th place of cities “where life is good”, while Montpellier, finds itself in 32nd place just in front of the pink city. The City of Violets is thus at 18th ranked among the 40 French municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants, but first in the department of Haute-Garonne.
At the top of the ranking, the cities from Angers, Annecy and Bayonne respectively occupy the top three.
Occitania poorly represented
In the top 50, the presence of cities in Occitanie remains less. Only Rodezin Aveyron stands out by positioning itself at the 17th place national. It also ranks third among municipalities in the region with between 20,000 and 50,000 inhabitants.
After Montpellier and Toulouse, comes Castres (Tarn) at the 72nd place. Then, Carcassonne (Aude) in 83rd place, Rouffiac-Tolosan (96th), Albi (Tarn) in 111th place, Narbonne (Aude) in 119th place, Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) in 124th place, Montauban (Tarn -et-Garonne) in 132nd place, Vigoulet-Auzil in 193rd place, Auzielle (242nd), Pin-Balma (281st), Lauzerville (353rd) and finally Vieille-Toulouse in 368th place.
